Health visits

Your baby will have regular health and development reviews during their early years. There are three planned health reviews to make sure your baby is staying healthy and developing normally. There are also three routine immunisations during the toddler years.

12 and 13 Months

You will be invited into your clinic for immunisations which will protect your child against

  • Hib and meningococcal type C (Men C)
  • Measles, mumps and rubella (German measles)
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Meningococcal type B

13 to 15 Months

The purpose of this visit is

  • To review your child’s development, health and wellbeing.
  • To answer any questions you have about your child’s development.
  • To advise and support you for this next stage of parenting.

27 to 30 Months

The purpose of this visit is

  • To review your child’s development, health and wellbeing.
  • To answer any questions you have about your child’s development.
  • To advise and support you for this next stage of parenting.

3 Years and 4 Months

You will be invited into your clinic for immunisations which will help protect your child against

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio
  • Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)

3 to 4 Years

Your child will be invited to an appointment for an eye test. They may be visited at nursery.

4 to 5 Years

The purpose of this visit is

  • To review your child’s development, health and wellbeing.
  • To answer any questions you have about your child’s development, health or wellbeing.
  • To advise and support you for this next stage of parenting and preparing for school.
